Where are you heading?
Not sure? Just can’t seem to figure it out? This may be the reason.
Do you notice that when you try to think your way to a big decision, you only end up more confused and frustrated? You become paralysed and make no decision because you’re so worried about making the wrong decision? You know – paralysis from analysis! Been there. Done that.
If you know what I’m talking about, I have an experiment for you.
Let go of trying to figure it out in your head and just focus on what’s happening around you as you go about your day to day. You’ll start to notice clues or potential opportunities, if you will.
For instance, when I decided to leave my corporate life and start a fitness biz, I wasn’t sure what type of fitness I would be doing. I just knew that I wanted to share with others all of the amazing things fitness had done for me.
I had originally thought I would go into corporate wellness since it seemed like the most logical direction. It made sense on paper and it probably would have been the easiest transition considering it was a world I knew and understood. But something kept me from pursuing that direction. Not to mention, nothing showed up or stood out that kept me interested in it.
What’s more likely is I just wasn’t interested in it so, nothing showed up or stood out.
I was kind of freaking out not knowing what I was going to do and therefore said eff it! I decided to let it go and stop trying to think my way through it.
That’s when I started noticing a lot of random stuff coming up about bootcamps. Because it kept “popping up” I did some research and decided to buy an at home bootcamp program and try it out. To make a long story short, this was the first action step I took in a series of many that led to an outdoor, women’s bootcamp and adventure business.
It was exactly what I was meant to do at that time. I totally felt the flow and it was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.
Follow the breadcrumbs…
When you see these “clues” building up, it’s time to take action. You don’t have to go all in at first. Simply take one small action leading in that direction. One action leads to the next which leads to the next and so on. Before you know it, you’re well on your way in the direction you are meant to be heading.
